I am committed to trying to figure out if this new social media platform has a place in my business world. I know from a personal stand point it's kind of interesting. It helps me keep up with my kids, has given me view points from friends I never expected and it allows everyone to be on the same page when info is flying around.
From a business point I'm not so certain of the benefits. I think it's largely because our clients are unlikely to be in similar circumstances with other clients and so our work with clients is highly customized and not applicable, for the most part, to other clients.
It may however, serve a role in helping people get to know us who aren't currently our clients. Our service is assisting people who want to sell their business. Often these business owners have spent decades creating the business and the sale of the business is a very emotional process. If the social media of today can help our potential clients get to know us a little better then maybe we have something worth investing the time and effort into.
